October 11 - Winners of OpenCut 2:

There were a lot of really good standout entries. The difficulty was narrowing down the videos since so many had great strengths. There was no real strong initial consensus from the judges on the first go-around. Everyone had their own favorites and their own strong reasons for picking them. We finally narrowed down the entries to the following top six (NOT in order of rank or preference):

So, without further ado...The winner of OpenCut 2 Alpine Meadows is Mike Greenberg. On VUZE, Mike's video was also the highest rated. Since Mike won the judges choice (and the grand prize), his video is taken out of the running for People's Choice on VUZE, and that prize defaults to the next most popular video. The winner for the People's Choice award--with a download count of 234 and an average rating of 5.3 is John Zeller.

July 21st - WINNER of OpenCut 1: "Susannah" - Carsten Kurpanek

This was an extraordinarily difficult decision.

Every single version of "Susannah" was different in its own right--and some people put some extraordinary effort into the titling, music, and sound effects.

At the end of the day, it was a unanimous decision that Carsten Kurpanek would be awarded "Editor-of-Record" of OpenCut 1: "Susannah." Carsten will be posted up on IMDB as the editor of "Susannah."

Carsten will receive a brand new AJA Io HD from Silverado Systems.·Further, Carsten will also receive a one-week free rental of RED ONE #20 (Calvin) and a complete set of production gear to shoot his own cut of his choosing.

We congratulate Carsten on his effort, and applaud everyone on their hard work.
